Our Approach

    Our organization has developed a unique approach of engaging and involving the community at a grassroots level which has proved highly effective. By recognizing the potential of women to act as peacemakers, we harness the talents of ordinary women and equip them with the tools necessary for them to emerge as leaders of their communities. We believe education is essential for all women, no matter what stage of life they may have reached.


When we first started, we were keen to challenge the traditional notion that a woman's place is only in the home; we knew women had an important role to play as peacemakers and community leaders and we needed to change the mindset of both men and women, to allow them to see this also. 


Central to everything we do are the following five key areas: 

• Security
• Peace Building
• Economic Empowerment
• Human Rights
• Capacity Building

These are the areas we identified as being of utmost importance in South Kordofan and all our projects are based on advancing at least one of these principles.
